Playground Renovation

The renovation of the playground shared by Rooms 11 and 12 is moving right along. The goal is to have a level play area, playground equipment that is easier to access by children of all abilities and better drainage after rainy days.

Ribbon-cutting held at Rockingham Campus

On January 26, 2023, the ribbon was cut in celebration of the completion of the expansion and renovation of the Rockingham Campus which began with a ground breaking in May 20222.

 

Award Worthy

Richmond County Partnership for Children honored all the resilient Early Childhood Professionals at their 19th Appreciation Banquet at Cole Auditorium on Friday, May 20. Dr. Sharon Little presented the keynote titled, “Resilience: The Formula for Success.” Recognition of WAGE$ participants, childcare facilities with 4- and 5-star ratings and individual educational accomplishments were celebrated. Four awards were also presented. Winners were chosen by a panel of judges based on letters of support written by families, staff, and community members. Ms. Cathy Wright of Washington Street Elementary won the “Bernice Ratliff Outstanding Teacher Award.” Ms. Jeanny Hardee of Mount Olive Christian Child Care won “Kathy Alexander Positive Attitude Award.” Crystal Gary of CLG Child Care won the inaugural “Family Child Care Home Professional of the Year Award” and Sandhills Children’s Center won the “Center of the Year Award
