Part-time Kitchen Assistant — Sandhills Children’s Center, Southern Pines, NC

Hours:Part-time

Salary:Commensurate with experience

Qualifications:

• High School Graduate
• Associate’s degree in culinary arts a plus
• Experience working in a commercial kitchen
• Demonstrated knowledge of kitchen equipment, such as ovens, dishwasher, etc.
• Demonstrated organizational skills, flexibility and ability to multi-task
• Self-motivated and ability to work efficiently and effectively under pressure
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus

Responsibilities:

• Work within our daily day care functions, policies and procedures
• Assist Kitchen Coordinator to prepare meals, clean and stock inventory
• Assist Kitchen Coordinator in safe keeping of equipment and material accessible to children
• Develop and maintain positive working relationships with staff
• Maintain records and share with appropriate staff members
• Participate in related training opportunities as they become available
• Additional duties as assigned by supervisor and/or Director
